Indonesian Rupiahs
Based on my experience, many tourists still do not fully understand the fundamental of Indonesian Rupiah. I often find that they are a bit confused distinguishing between IDR 10.000 and IDR 100.000. Hopefully this simple piece of information might help you before you exchange your money and shop in Batam Island
As you could see, IDR 100,000 has a red color while IDR 10,000 has sorta a purplish color.
Simulation:
If your purchase amount IDR 250.000, you can pay with the following details:
2 sheets of IDR 100.000
1 sheet of IDR 50.000
or
2 sheets of IDR 100.000
2 sheets of IDR 20.000
1 sheet of IDR 10.000
or
3 sheets of IDR 100.000
then you will get a change of IDR 50.000
